Regional Awards System

Regional Awards System for the FBCG Model Car Competitions

The states were organized into regions, or competitive pools, based on population and model entry history to ensure a fair distribution of the national scholarship awards.  The first state award winners, for the groups of states shown below, competed against one another for the “best” model or what was called the Regional Award winner.   A Junior Regional Award and Senior Regional Award winner were selected to (1) attend the Guild Convention (all-expenses paid) and (2) to compete for the top national scholarships.  National Styling Scholarship awards were generally picked out of the regional award pool, but not always.  1st, 2nd and 3rd state winners were eligible for a National Styling Scholarship ($1,000 award) if they met the definition of “Excellence in Design.”
